The game limits frame rate to 60 FPS by default. Remove FPS capcitation needed Go to the configuration file(s) location. Open usersettings.cfg with a text editor. Add entry on a new line or set the value to false if it already exists. I have an idea to show you guys how to fix SOMA by fixing drivers. First of all, open the Device Manager by typing 'devmgmt.msc'. Now, second of all, double click on Display Adapters, and right-click the wrong driver. Click Uninstall, and it will tell you a message that you're going to uninstall the driver.
Although you lifted the quarantine outside, a lot of Site Omicron will still be in lockdown. Head up to the second level and enter the door on the right.
Follow the signs in the back hall to the Dive Room. When you enter, the door will lock behind you. Place your Omnitool on the terminal to speak with Catherine.
Open the lockers further into the Dive Room to find a power suit. Interact with the terminal near these lockers to scan the suit. Catherine will give you your next objective: You must find a Cortex Chip, Structure Gel, and a Battery Pack.
Exit out of the Dive Room and return to the Containment Room in the middle of the floor. The terminal near the glass containment zone will now be active. Click the Override button on the lower-right corner of the screen to activate a puzzle. You must solve this puzzle to unlock all the rooms on the floor.
After a series of load screens, you will be presented with a puzzle. You must connect each square in a single line. The solution is in the picture below, follow the green lines going through the middle of the squares. This will remove the lockdown on this floor.
Below are instructions on where to find each item. This walkthrough does not cover optional story items that reveal more of what happened before you arrived. Remember to investigate each room on all three floors if you want to learn more!
Structure Gel[edit]
Enter the clean room through the door behind the lockdown terminal. The Structure Gel is located in the back of the room, but it's locked in a large machine container.
Click the Open/Close button on the right side of the container. The control chip will malfunction, causing a small door to open. Open this small door beneath the button and remove the control chip.
Open the glass sliding door to the right of this room. There are three compartments here with two items inside two of the compartments. The middle compartment should be empty. Press the button next to the red light on the middle compartment and pull open the tray.
Place the control chip in the open tray and walk a few steps back to the controls. Move the stick on the control panel to the right until a laser aims down onto the broken control chip. Press the dispense gel button to repair the chip.
Remove the control chip from the compartment, place it back in the machine in the previous room, and remove the structure gel from the container. That's one item acquired. Exit out of the clean room and return to the Containment room.
Battery Pack[edit]
From the Containment room, exit out to the hallway and make a right to the South Stairwell. The signs on the walls will point to the Main Entrance. Follow the signs to the Containment F2 room. Interact with the terminal in the Containment room to remove the lockdown on this floor. All you need to do is click Upper followed by Override.
Next, go through the door on the right to the Power Room. A monster will be standing in this area right next to the battery pack. As you get closer, it will begin transforming into a much larger monster until it turns around and attacks.
It can be difficult to get the battery pack from the yellow compartment on the wall without getting attacked by the monster, but throwing an object at it and running away and hiding before it sees you works. Don't worry if you fail, you should be able to withstand an attack from the creature. If it attacks, it will move to the other side of the room afterwards. Grab the battery pack and head towards the exit.
On the way back, if you angered it before, you'll run into the same monster near the exit. Try sneaking around it if possible. If it attacks a second time, you should still be able to survive. Exit out of the room and return to the Containment room. That's two items down.
Before returning upstairs, enter the Dining Hall through the West Hall to find a WAU connection. This will restore your health and clear up your screen from the last monster encounter. Now return to the Midsection.
Cortex Chip[edit]
As you would expect the third item is on the lower level. Follow the signs back down to the Midsection, then walk towards the East Stairwell.
When you reach the bottom floor, head over to Containment FB. Interact with the terminal yet again, select Lower followed by Override to remove the lockdown on this floor.
Take a left to the South Hall and enter the Robot Repair Bay. This is where you can find the Cortex Chip.
The Cortex Chip will still be inside a robot. You must interact with the Diagnostics terminal and complete another puzzle to remove the chip. The objective of this puzzle is to get the lasers from the left side to the receivers on the bottom by changing the nine shapes in the middle. Click on the objects on the left side of the screen to start the lasers, and click on the objects in the middle of the screen to rotate and alternate their shapes. The solution to the puzzle is in the images below. The top laser should touch shapes 1, 2, 3, 6, and 9; the middle laser should touch shapes 4, 5, and 8; and the bottom laser should touch shape 7 only.
With that puzzle solved, the Cortex Chip can be removed from the robot. That should be all three items. Make sure you're done exploring before returning to the Dive Room.
Return to the Dive Room[edit]
With all three items in hand, return to the Dive Room on the middle floor. A monster will appear in the North Hall as you make your way back. Turn off your flashlight and sneak down the hall. You will die instantly if the monster attacks.
If you can make it to the hallway that leads to the Dive Room, get up from the crouched position and start running. Catherine will lock the door the instant you run in.
Now to get down to business. Attach all three items to the dead body in the dive suit, then click “Retry” on the terminal near the lockers.
Catherine will instruct you to sit in the pilot seat next. Before you can do that, you must solve one more puzzle on the terminal to the right of the seat. The objective is to line up the two wavelengths. Click - and + on each of the three parameters to sync the lines. The solution for us was Frequency 1, Offset 5, and Amplitude 7, but it may be different for you. Click Lock Parameters when the lines are synced, then sit in the pilot's seat.
After the event and dialogue, remove the Omnitool and make your choice by interacting with the terminal next to the pilot seat. The only thing left to do is leave Omicron through the pressure chamber near the lockers. Next up is The Descent.
